Measles- Sometimes referred to as rubeola, measles is a disease of the skin, throat, and lungs that can lead to read spots forming on your body.
MMR Shot- An MMR shot is a vaccination person can get in order to make themselves immune to measles, mumps, and rubella.
Summary:
Measles is an easily spread disease that can be quite harmful if not treated correctly. Most common in young children, some symptoms of measles are a lack of hunger, extreme exhaustion, abdominal pain, vomiting, and a clear sign, red skin rashes. Some risks of measles are that it is highly contagious. If one was to even hold hands with a person who has measles the virus could be spread. Another big risk is the fact that it can lead to major medical problems. For example, measles have been known to lead to ear infections, sometimes brain problems, and very rarely, death if not properly treated. Although there are probably many ways to prevent measles, the best probably is to just get an MMR shot.
Discussion:
I chose this article because I didn't know much about measles. The article I chose describe what measles is, what are some symptoms of measles, and how to avoid getting measles. I think it is important for people to know that measles are really contagious. They take about 8 days to heal and if not cared for correctly can have bad results. But if one gets and MMR shot and does not go to school (or work), measles will not present a problem.
Questions:
Is there a faster way to get rid of measles? (rather than waiting for them to go away)
Do measles affect one's health permanently?
